JCPenney Unveils New Private Brand of Adaptive Clothing
With back-to-school season shopping on the horizon, parents of children with special needs can breathe a sigh of relief. That’s because JCPenney has just launched their new line of adaptive clothing called Thereabouts. According to the department store, their new line aims to celebrate the diversity of shapes, sizes, styles, and abilities while providing stylish and durable clothing at affordable prices. Thereabouts apparel is available with adaptive features, which include easy-access openings, sensory-friendly seaming, and best of all, no tags! The company is also partnering with Patti + Ricky, an adaptive fashion retailer for both adults and children with disabilities, to expand its children’s adaptive offerings. A spokesperson for JCPenney said that Thereabouts was created so that all children can feel confident and capable in their clothes. She went on to call the line, “The most inclusive kids brand ever.”
The inclusive clothing line will be available exclusively at JCPenney stores and jcp.com. Here’s to hoping that this innovative clothing brand will make back-to-school shopping a little easier on both kids with special needs and their parents.
