BYU Recruiting Families in Utah to Participate in New Study
Through an interdisciplinary grant funded by Brigham Young University (BYU) and the Simmons research endowment, a new study will be launched which explores the role of bacteria found in the gastrointestinal tract of infants and its possible contribution to the development of autism. The ultimate goal of this investigation is to identify biomarkers which may lead to tests detecting autism earlier than currently possible. The BYU research team is looking for infants between 8 and 12 months old to participate in this study. The university is recruiting participants from the Utah Valley or Greater Salt Lake City area. Infants of siblings with or without autism are encouraged to apply.
